Gilda's Club Western New York announces election of new officers and directors to its 2009 Board of Directors.

Gilda's Club Western New York (WNY) announces the election of four new officers to its 2009 board of directors, effective January 1, 2009. Each officer will serve a one-year term.


Jock Mitchell, former director of admissions for Nichols School, has been elected Chair. Mitchell previously served as Gilda's Club WNY board chair from 2005-2007. He also served as co-chair of the Gilda's Club WNY capital campaign. He is a resident of the city of Buffalo.
Nancy M. Blaschak, executive director of the American Red Cross, Buffalo Chapter, has been elected Vice Chair. Blaschak joined the Gilda's Club board in 2000 and previously served as secretary. She is a resident of Boston, NY. Thomas H. Waring, Jr., founder and president, Waring Financial Group, has been elected Secretary. He joined the Gilda's Club board in 2008. He is a resident of Hamburg, NY.  David Schlein, CPA, Partner, Lumsden & McCormick, has been elected treasurer. He joined the Gilda's Club board in 2007. He is a resident of Williamsville.


Gilda's Club has also elected four new directors, each of whom will serve a three-year term.

The new directors are:
Carol Dambmann, director of annual giving, Nardin Academy;
Michael Morga, founder and president, The Peyton Barlow Company, Inc.;
Cynthia Rich, senior vice president, community banking executive, Evans Bank, and
Mary Thomas Scott, Esq., M. Thomas Scott & Associates.
